Whaam! Mobile app and multimedia guide by Antenna for Lichtenstein art display

Antenna International has produced a new multimedia guide and mobile app to accompany Lichtenstein: A Retrospective, on display at Tate Modern in London until May 2013.

This show is the first full-scale Roy Lichtenstein retrospective in over twenty years and brings together 125 of his most definitive paintings and sculptures.

The guide and app explores the life and work of Lichtenstein, looking in detail at more than 20 of his iconic pieces, and will guide users and visitors through the multiple inspirations behind his vibrant and eye-catching art.

Users of the guide and app will be able to listen to Tate curators sharing their expert views on his work, and even hear from the artist in his own words and find out how Lichtenstein felt about popular culture through personal insight into his life provided by interviews and video of his widow, Dorothy Lichtenstein.

In a unique collaboration between the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation and Tate, the app provides exclusive access to Lichtenstein’s personal scrapbooks, allowing users the opportunity to browse through pages of source materials and the very images that inspired him.

Users can choose from two user-friendly interfaces, for use at Tate Modern or away from the gallery, which echo Lichtenstein’s signature comic book style. The app will only be available for the duration of the exhibition.
